Matterport provides the easiest way for anyone to create, distribute, and make use of realistic 3D models of the real world to help them promote, understand, experience, or plan changes to a space. Our solution provides a rapid capture process - an easy end-to-end experience even for nontechnical users - and a photorealistic visual quality to provide immersion and give a sense for the 3D structure of a space. We’re currently focused on the residential real estate and rental markets, and are actively engaging commercial real estate, hospitality, business listings, travel, construction, home improvement, facilities management, news and entertainment, and other markets.
The added immersion of 3D benefits different customers in different ways. For space promoters - real estate, rentals, hospitality, travel -- it’s a compelling way to market a space that provides users with a highly engaging and informative experience. For people who manage spaces - construction, facilities management, home improvement - it’s a useful tool for documenting and communicating visual and spatial information which can: reduce communications and record-keeping, reduce uncertainty about decision-making, and save costs. For media customers, it provides a way of telling stories about places that provides high user engagement while being inexpensive to produce.
